THE WHOLE or ALL THE?

 • Bruce finished the whole milk meant for all of us. 

Preferably, 'all the' is used with non-count nouns. We use 'all the' and 'the whole' with singular nouns such as the examples below: 

I spent the whole week at home.

I spent all the week at home. 

     Therefore the above sentence will be rewritten as: 

Bruce finished all the milk meant for all of us.
