LEND or BORROW?

 Lend or Borrow?  We use borrow when we mean to get something from someone in the hope of returning it, while we use lend when we mean to give something out in the hope of taking it back. Take a look at the examples below:  • Can I borrow your pen? • Please lend me your pen.  • I will lend you some money if you’re ready to borrow up to the amount discussed. 

INCONVENIENCE or INCONVENIENT?

 • The presence of those traders will inconvenient me. The word ‘inconvenient’ is an adjective which means ‘causing trouble or problems’. It has a noun and verb form which is ‘inconvenience’. Therefore,the above sentence will be rewritten as: • The presence of those traders will inconvenience me.

A NICE AND FRIENDLY COUSIN or A NICE FRIENDLY COUSIN

 • Charles is such a nice and friendly cousin.  The adjective ‘nice' is not used with a noun when the conjunction ‘and' is used after it. Therefore, the above sentence will be rewritten as: • Charles is such a nice friendly cousin. OR • Charles is  nice and friendly.
